Where does The Sultan’s School advertise job vacancies?
All vacancies are normally advertised on our website from early December. In addition the school uses a number of recruitment agencies, which include Search Associates and Hays. Posts are also advertised in TES.
How do I apply for a vacancy?
Interested parties should send an CV (max two pages) and a covering letter (max two pages), together with a recent photo to the Principal (Dr. Glenn Canterford) at: email@example.com
Please DO NOT send any additional information (copies of degree certs etc) at this stage.
I have submitted an application. What happens next?
Applications sent directly to the school will receive an automated reply acknowledging that we have received your information. Each year we receive hundreds of applications for each post and therefore we advise applicants that if you have not heard from us within six weeks of submitting an application you should assume that your application was unsuccessful.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted either directly by the Principal (or the Head of Primary/Secondary) or through one of the agencies we use. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview either by telephone/SKYPE or face-to-face depending on the candidates location.
When will my references be checked?
References will be checked prior to final interview for teaching posts. All contracts of employment are subject to receiving two satisfactory references and Criminal Record/Children’s Barred List Checks.
Where can I find more information about the vacancy?
All shortlisted candidates are sent an information package about the school, that includes the terms and conditions of the contract.
I don’t want to apply for any of the posts on the website but I wondered if you have any other vacancies which may be of interest to me?
All our vacancies are advertised on our website. Unfortunately, we don’t accept speculative applications.
I have previously applied for a post at The Sultan’s School and was unsuccessful. Can I try again?
We recruit on a post by post basis therefore you are free to apply again.
How does TSS support the professional development of its staff?
Staff are provided with many opportunities to undertake CPD both within school, across the region and internationally.
Who do I contact if I want more information?
