Academic Year 2020-21 – Update – 22nd September

Dear Parents,

Following on from my earlier correspondence, I just wanted to let everyone know that we have now received a comprehensive set of guidelines from the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Health (MOH). This outlines the required protocols and procedures that will enable us to reopen in November.

Having reviewed the information, I am pleased to report that the school has already implemented a large number of the stated requirements that will ensure our students will be able to return to school under the safest of conditions. Over the next few weeks we will be working on the final few measures required by the MOE and MOH to ensure we are ready for November 1^st. We will also be sending more information to parents relating to our hybrid academic programme and the school’s health and safety protocols in due course.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the parents who have taken the time to provide us with some feedback relating to the first three weeks of our e-learning programme. On the whole, the feedback has been very positive, although we are acutely aware of the demands e-learning has placed on teachers, students and parents.

With this in mind, and in order to celebrate the school’s Founder’s Day, I wanted to inform you that we will not be offering any live lessons this coming Thursday (24^th September). This will give our teachers a chance to review the first three weeks of term and plan accordingly, and will allow the students to consolidate on the topics covered so far. It will also give everyone a welcome break from sitting in front of the computer for extended periods. The e-learning programme will recommence on Sunday 27^th September.
